Frozen Pipes & Water Damage in Cincinnati, Ohio
Frigid winter conditions with below freezing temperatures can often lead to broken pipes and water damage. This home in Cincinnati, Ohio was damaged when the pipes froze and then burst during the cold temperatures. The frozen pipe was located behind a dining room wall so a lot of the water damage was located in the dining room. The crown molding and walls were affected. These photos show the damaged ceiling with the crown molding. Before beginning the restoration process, the SERVPRO of Cincinnati East water technicians installed a self-adhesive plastic film over the floors in order to protect them during the restoration process. They then removed the wet portions of the ceiling and the insulation. All the debris was bagged and removed for disposal. They set up air movers and dehumidifiers and monitored the equipment until the area was dry. Once the dry out was complete, the equipment was removed and the home was ready for structural repairs.
